| Hugh in a movie! |
[May. 2nd, 2007|12:19 pm] |
Got this from Google alerts:
This is a bit odd, Fox Searchlight is about to have two movies by the same name within three years as the previously titled The Night Watchman has been shortened to Night Watch as well as gained a new actor in the form of Hugh Laurie, a.k.a. that bloke from "House". Laurie joins previously cast Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker , Terry Crews and Chris Evans in the film being directed by David Ayer.
The story centers on a veteran LAPD cop (Reeves) who turns to alcohol after the death of his wife. The cop is forced to go up against his longtime mentor (Whitaker) when he is implicated in the execution of a fellow officer. Laurie and Evans would play internal affairs officers.
Filming is set to begin in L.A. this month.
Well thats one alert,I like this one better,as I agree,he certainly is, "easy on the eyes"...:) HUGH LAURIE AND CHRIS EVANS ARE WATCHMEN 05.01.07 By Jeremy Smith Contributing sources: Variety David Ayer's The Night Watchman is turning into quite the testosterone-soaked cop melodrama. One month after snagging Forrest Whitaker to play the corrupt captain of an elite LAPD unit who frames his protégé (played by Keanu Reeves) for the murder of a fellow officer, Ayer has now landed the easy-on-the-eyes duo of Hugh Laurie and Chris Evans to play the handsomest Internal Affairs partners in the history of cinema (sorry, Andy Garcia, but all Lauries are not created equal).
Hopefully, Laurie's appearance in The Night Watchman will mark the beginning of an honest-to-god film career, as he's largely been turning up in bit parts or doing random voiceover work up until now. As for Evans, this will hopefully mark the beginning of legitimately good acting, as he's been skating on his potential since Not Another Teen Movie and Cellular (though he's not bad as a charismatic rapist in the unreleased Fierce People).
The film is expected to begin shooting this month in order to accommodate Whitaker, who's got forty-seven other movies to appear in this year. Fox Searchlight will distribute sometime in 2008. |

[Oct. 11th, 2006|08:24 pm] |
All the following is from hughlaurie.net-On October 28th, the doctor is in as "House" star Hugh Laurie toplines SNL. Hailed as one of the best actors on television, Laurie stars in the hit medical drama and has garnered critical accolades as well as a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award and an Emmy nomination. A veteran of groundbreaking British television comedy ("A Bit of Fry and Laurie," "Black Adder," "Saturday Live" and "Jeeves and Wooster"), Laurie has also appeared in films including "Flight of the Phoenix," "Sense and Sensibility," "Peter's Friends" as well as the family hits "101 Dalmatians" and the "Stuart Little" films. Educated at Eton and Cambridge University in the U.K., Laurie was elected president of the venerable Footlights Revue, where he worked with frequent castmates Stephen Fry and Emma Thompson. LOTS TO LOOK AT!! I apologise for my update lack, when I found out House wasn't to return till the 31st of October,my spirits went right down the tubes. These menopausal hormones ARE HELL! | House...so far! |
[Sep. 19th, 2006|11:58 pm] |
I got abit worried when on the first new season 3 episode, that they didnt' tell House he was correct in his diagnosis,I was like NO,DON'T Mess with a winning formula but they made up for it in ep.2... Tonights ep,yeah I liked it..not the best I've seen but it was ok..so much diagnosing and hospital stuff,,yeah yeah I know its a medical drama but I like seeing House in his own "house"or on his motorcycle.Excellent job by Joel Gray, haven't seen him in so long!! I like Cameron this year, she has some spunk and isn't as much a pushover as previous seasons..BUT,I keep getting PISSED that the 3 of them still DOUBT HOUSE and keep giving him a hard time!! For cryin out loud, they KNOW how unethical he can be,yet the writers STILL have them hemming and hawing at every suggested test or diagnosis he gives them to do..if it were me,with House's diagnostic record of perfection,I'd be doing anything he suggested without wavering or questioning "why"..sure I'd ask questions but they oughta know by now that he's got it GOIN' ON ..gees! Just my 2 cents! |
